Life Education has been a household name for two generations across the Hastings with more than 10,000 children in local schools every year learning the healthy living message.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council was thanked last week for its ongoing commitment and support of the Life Education program with CEO of Life Education NSW Jay Bacik presenting Administrator Neil Porter with a certificate of appreciation.
Life Education was founded in 1979 with the program integrating its personal development, drug education and healthy lifestyle choices learning modules with the NSW school curriculum. The program is delivered from 41 Life Education vans to more than 300,000 school children across the State each year.
Mr Bacik said Port Macquarie-Hastings schools collectively are the biggest supporters of the program in New South Wales, with the giraffe mascot Happy Healthy Harold a fun, positive and likeable identity to encourage young people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
“With the support of organisations like Port Macquarie-Hastings Council we are able to have a presence in schools, play a vital role in preparing children for life and equip them with the skills to make positive, healthy choices,” Mr Bacik said.
