Join dots on climate issues this weekend

Residents can “Join The Dots’ on Saturday when it comes to understanding climate change.
Members of Climate Change Australia (CCA) Hastings Branch will be joining other climate action groups around the world, reminding everyone that there are already many signs of global warming at Town Beach reserve near the children’s playground, from 11am until 1pm.
Polar ice and glaciers are melting, storms and flash flooding are getting worse and in other places droughts and bushfires are more extreme and last longer, a spokesman said.
“But because the globe is so big, it’s hard for people to see it’s all connected. That’s why on May 5, we will Join the Dots.”
At rallies from Australia to Austria, and from Vietnam to Vermont, someone will be holding… a dot. A huge black dot on a white banner. A colourful banner will be created from dots symbolising the mounting evidence of climate change. All it takes is to join the dots and that’s what we will be doing on the global day of witness organised by the US-based climate action group 350.org.
Images of the event will be shared across the globe and you can follow the action on www.climatedots.org
CCA exists to raise awareness about climate change and encourage urgent action to tackle global warming.
