A new parking facility within the Port Macquarie CBD has opened, alleviating parking concerns during the usually busy summer holiday period.
Ian Chetcuti, Team Leader of Ranger Services said the opening of Coles in Hayward St has created an additional 145 time-limited parking spaces on the lower parking level of the new complex.
“Pre-existing 154 all-day parking spaces are now available to the public on the top deck of the new centre, as well as time limited parking spaces on the lower level,” Mr Chetcuti said.
“This should ease some of the parking issues within the Port Macquarie CBD.”
Hastings Rangers are reminding people that while all parking within the Local Government Area is free, time-limited parking still applies within the Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope CBDs.
Parking at and around the popular beach areas will also be enforced to ensure the safety of all beach users and safe access to all areas for emergency vehicles is maintained.
Mr Chetcuti said with the influx of people to the region all Council Rangers will be on hand during the festive season.
“We’ll be out there ensuring compliance with not only parking issues but also general enforcement issues that may arise over this period.”
