A man was airlifted to hospital after slamming into a power pole on Ocean Drive on Saturday morning.
Mid-North Coast Local Area Command Chief Inspector Shane Cribb said the 36-year-old male’s vehicle crossed to the incorrect side of the road at 9.15am and collided with a power pole.
Emergency services attended to free the man who was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. Investig-ations are continuing.
An Essential Energy spokesperson said the accident resulted in an unplanned power supply interruption which affected 2500 customers in Lake Cathie.
Power was restored at 1.05pm once crews repaired the power pole, which involved replacing the high voltage cross arm, and wires.
