DEVELOPMENT in new home and land releases in Armidale is showing signs of resurgence with strong interest from buyers fuelling the need to open up more land for development.
Stage one of Sheridan Park Estate off the Rockvale Road is one of the newest estates to open and with half of the lots already sold is an example of a number of land releases of which local buyers are taking advantage.
Armidale Dumaresq Mayor Jim Maher, who was on hand to cut the ribbon at the estate’s recent launch, is confident that Armidale will continue to grow.
“It is wonderful to see stage one of this development open with another two stages to come,” Cr Maher said.
“It is a significant investment in terms of dollars; the developers of this estate are utlilising local suppliers and tradespeople which is great for our local economy.
“They are showing great faith in Armidale’s future and I think that faith is warranted. There is a lot of developments on the horizon that are going to put Armidale in good stead for the future.”
Sheridan Park Estate has been two years in the making. Developers Paul Harmer and Graham Connor from Concot Pty Ltd believe that Armidale has a strong future and offers a terrific lifestyle for families and anyone looking for a relaxed environment yet still offering all the conveniences of a modern city.
“Average size of our blocks is between 800-900 square metres which still gives people plenty of room,” Paul Harmer said.
“As developers is was extremely important for us to use local people as we want the money that we spend to go back into our community so everyone who helped us get this project off the ground was local.”
Professionals Armidale are managing the sale of the remaining lots in Sheridan Park Estate, however there are a number of land release available across Armidale which indicates that investment in growth across Armidale is looking healthy.
