WINGHAM is gearing up for its annual Akoostik Music Festival after tickets went on sale last week.
Headlining the annual festival this year will be international performers Jenny Morris and Wendy Matthews.
“We are excited to secure both these women as they are in-demand singers and multi-award winning artists,” Akoostik Music Festival spokesperson Donna Ballard said.
“Matthews has recorded five solo albums, has four multi-platinum albums and five top charting singles like You’re Gonna Get Hurt and Body and Soul.”
Ballard said organisers were also thrilled to also announce its first “truly international” band with Joni Agung and Double T making the trip from Bali.
“Joni Agung and Double T play at the biggest reggae festival in Indonesia every year and their works, published since 2002, focus on social mission, cultural conservations, peace, love and harmony issues showing respect to Bali cultural heritage,” Ballard said.
“These values align nicely with the philosophy of the Akoostik Festival.”
Tickets are now available at www.akoostik.com.au.
