Stanthorpe-born Amanda Halloran and Amanda Faulkner from Warra will join country music greats Luke Austen and Luke Dickens to play at the Mountview Music Muster on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
Held among the vines at beautiful Mountview Wines in Glen Aplin near Stanthorpe, the inaugural Muster is shaping up to be an event not to be missed.
The Hon Lawrence Springborg MP, Member for Southern Downs and Minister for Health, will be opening the event.
“I would encourage every-one to attend the inaugural Mountview Music Muster,” Mr Springborg said.
“It will be wonderful to see our own local talent playing alongside country music icons such as Luke Austen and Luke Dickens.
“I’m sure both our local girls will do us proud, and I am really looking forward to seeing them.”
Singer/Songwriter Amanda Halloran was born in Stanthorpe and graduated from the CMAA Australian country Music College in 2006.
With two albums and a stack of awards under her belt, Ms Halloran was a Toyota Star Maker finalist herself in 2008, 2010 and 2011 — years which were won by Luke Austen and Luke Dickens, also playing at this year’s Muster.
Ms Halloran is a seasoned performer, already having played all around Australia at well-known festivals such as the Gympie Music Muster, Mud Bulls & Music and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Talented songwriter Amanda Faulkner hails from Warra, and lives by her saying “don’t die with the music in you”.
Ms Faulkner specialises in ‘Classic Country’, the music that she was raised on, and has been compared to country music greats such as Tania Kernighan and Anne Kirkpatrick.
