The NSW Minister for Mental Health and Healthy Lifestyles was in Port Maquarie on Monday to show his support for mental health and drug and alcohol services and outcomes for residents.
Kevin Humphries was joined by Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams, in a tour of the Mental Health Unit at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital on Monday, as well as meeting with representatives of the Endeavour Clubhouse Committee.
“There are so many incredible local initiatives across the Mid-North Coast and it is fantastic to give Minister Humphries the opportunity to meet with the Endeavour Clubhouse Committee and to see first-hand the progress being made on this important project,” Leslie Williams said.
Minister Humphries said the visit highlighted the NSW Government’s commitment to im-proving mental health services and promoting healthy lifestyles across the State.
“There is great work being done locally in helping to reduce the stigma around mental health, promoting social inclusion and providing practical ways of dealing with mental health and drug and alcohol issues,” Mr Humphries said.
