PORT Macquarie High School students have again collected for the local soup kitchen in the annual Canned Food Drive.
Students were asked to bring in non-perishable food items that are then donated to the soup kitchen to help feed those less fortunate in the Port Macquarie area.
Roll call groups were given the opportunity to win themselves valuable house points and a lunch paid for by the Student Representative Council for collecting the heaviest weight of cans.
More than 150kg worth of cans were donated.
The student body’s hope was that with the weather cooling down, a warm meal would help make things look a little better for those less fortunate in our community.
