Roberts puts training and education first

A fresh faced candidate for the next Port Macquarie local government election has joined the ranks at the age of 24.
The local government elections for Port Macquarie Hastings are scheduled for 2012.
Adam Roberts said the first major issue that triggered his interest in running for Council was higher education and training for locals.
“What school leavers in particular could move into locally in terms of options and what local government can do to promote our area as a potential educational stronghold,” he said.
“I want an expansion of education and training options in the Port-Hastings and I believe that with our skills base and excellent products and services, we have a good platform to offer learning in a range of fields.”
Other issues that Mr Roberts has highlighted include:
– Council and local business working together for the good of the local economy.
– Infrastructure for the vision impaired and disabled.
– More inclusive Council – working cohesively with outlying towns/villages.
