Remembering the fallen

On Sunday morning cross the Tweed, people stopped to remember the fallen, marking the 94th anniversary of the Armistice on the Western Front and the end of World War I.
At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, ceremonies were held and not even rain and wind could put off those who gathered to remember those lost. In Kingscliff, the weather conditions saw the event moved from the Cenotaph to the community centre. However, a large crowd still gathered to take part in the ceremony. Kingscliff RSL Sub Branch president, Robert Brumfit, urged the crowd to take a minute to remember all those who had fallen in war and in particular, those who have lost their lives in Afghanistan.
