POLICE are investigating a report that two men approached a nine-year-old Port Macquarie girl as she was walking to school on Tuesday.
It was alleged the girl was walking to school on a path between Kennedy Drive and Palmview Place about 8.45am, when she was approached by two unknown men.
The men allegedly attempted to entice the child to leave the area with them.
The girl ran to her nearby school and raised the alarm.
Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and commenced inquiries.
Patrols and a canvass of the area were conducted; however, they were unable to locate the men involved.
The girl has described both men as being aged in their late thirties or early forties, with one man wearing a blue T-shirt with white markings on it.
The men were last seen walking towards Kennedy Drive.
