New staff, fresh year

Port Macquarie High School has welcomed several new members of staff to kick off the 2011 school year.

Jill Longhurst, from Killara High School, takes up the position of Deputy Principal, replacing the retiring Bruce Lattimore.

Mrs Longhurst will be responsible for Years 7, 9, and 11 and she is looking forward to the challenges her new role will bring.

In Science, Marion Napier makes a welcome return from a year of filling in at Westport High School bringing with her many years of experience teaching Agriculture and caring for farm animals.

Former student, Kirra Smith (nee Little) will be part of the CAPA staff. Kirra loved art at high school and is keen to pass on some of her enthusiasm to the students. In PD/H/PE, Damien Huens will bring some extra experience to the faculty.

Megan Brennan is looking forward to making a positive contribution to the Mathematics Faculty.

Staff and students have already welcomed the new teachers and are making sure their time at the school is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
