During November men are showing off moustaches for a great cause and the Port Macquarie Independent’s Terry Blacker is “growing” along for the ride.
It’s Movember, the month formerly known as November, now dedicated to growing moustaches and raising awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer, and Terry, a key salesperson at the Independent’s office is growing his mo to help fight for the cause.
“I’m donating my top lip to the cause for 30 days in an effort to help change the face of men’s health,” he said.
“My mo will spark conversations, and no doubt generate some laughs; all in the name of raising vital awareness and funds for cancers affecting men.”
Why am I concerned about men’s health, asked Terry?
*One in nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
*This year 37,000 new cases of the disease will be diagnosed
*One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime
*26 per cent of men are less likely to go the doctor compared to women
Funds raised will help make a tangible difference to the lives of others, Terry said.
Terry is just one of many at the Evans Publishing team joining in for the cause.
“If you’d like to support me, please click on to my webpage to make a donation: http://au.movember.com/mospace/1769330/,” Terry said.
“Thank you in advance for helping me change the face of men’s health.”
