POLICE seized guns and drugs in a raid on a Lake Cathie home last week.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command executed a search warrant on the home in Chepana Street at 9.40am on Wednesday, 10 April.
A drug detection dog searched the location and indicated in a number of areas.
Police will allege that they found 79 kilograms of cannabis in plastic garbage bags and drying throughout the residence, 96 grams of cannabis resin and 23 grams of amphetamine.
A shortened double barrel shotgun and a .22 rifle were located next to a bed and police found another two firearms, a .22 rifle and a slug gun, in a locked wardrobe.
It is estimated the drugs found in the home have a combined street value of $600,000.
Officers arrested a 42-year-old man at the home and took him to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged with:
– Possessing more than three unregistered firearms;
– Cultivating an indictable quantity of cannabis;
– Two counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug (not cannabis);
– Cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited plant;
– Possessing ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
He was refused bail and appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on 11 April.
