Maddison makes her mark thanks to Zonta

The Zonta Club of Port Macquarie has awarded its $2000 University Scholarship for 2013 to Maddison Hord who completed her HSC at Wauchope High in 2012.

Maddison will be attending the University of New England and will commence her Bachelor of Rural Science degree.

The Zonta Club each year invites students commencing the first year of a degree in the following year to submit their applications to the Scholarship Committee.

The club, as in previous years, commented that the interviews showed the high standard of applicants and applauds their initiative and ambitions for their future.

Maddison has shown her ideals match the ideals of Zonta in their commitment to advancing the status of women.

The Zonta Club of Port Macquarie has also launched their $750 TAFE Bursary for 2013 and will have a result in April.

The club has also launched their $1500 Nursing Scholarship for 2013 for a student starting their first year of a Nursing degree through the local Port Macquarie campus of the Newcastle University.

The president of Zonta Port Macquarie, Lesley Tomasulo, says that the local club is committed to their scholarship programs and a large proportion of their funds raised go towards the
yearly scholarships.

Recently Zonta Port Macquarie Club collaborated with Rotary Port Macquarie to hold a yearly Craft Expo event, a major fundraiser.

Ms Tomasulo invites enquiries on their scholarship programmes and fund raising events by calling her on 0409 441 416.
