COMMUNITY groups throughout Port Macquarie and the Hastings have shared in more than $330,000 after The Westport Club dished out its annual grants last week.
The club’s community co-ordinator Jenny Edmunds said The Westport Club was delighted to have granted the substantial funding to so many commendable organisations, groups and clubs in the region.
“It is the vision of The Westport Club to make a significant contribution to the quality of community life,” she said.
“It is pleasing that we can align with such wonderful local organisations that will carry that vision through their work in the community.
“We are confident that the funding The Westport Club is granting will touch the lives of many local families and make a difference in the region.”
Each year club looks to form new relationships and this year a number of new beneficiaries were granted support, including Heritage Christian School, St Columba Anglican School, Bain Park Community Pre-School, Special Olympics Mid North Coast and The Leukaemia Foundation.
Upon receiving their grant cheques, many of the recipients spoke of the difference that the funding would make in their work and how the ongoing relationship with The Westport Club had positively impacted their organisation’s ability to deliver on their promise to the local community.
The next round of funding opens in March next year and details will be available on the Westport Club’s website at www.westportclub.com.au
