8.1kg gives Teena the weight loss crown

Teena Crowther has shed 8.1kg to take out Port Central’s Healthy Lifestyle Challenge.
Coming in a close second was Noni Collins who lost 6.6kg in the six weeks the weight loss event took place.
63 people signed up for the Challenge. Over the six weeks contestants weighed in at Terry White Chemist every 7 days.
They were advised of dietary and healthier lifestyle choices and also attended yoga exercises.
The results spoke for themselves, with over  80.7 kilos lost collectively in this short period.
Not only do the contestants say they feel better and healthier as a result, but the lucky winner Teena won six months’ membership to Lifestyle Express, a make over from Madison Avenue and a pair of runners from Mannings Shoes.
“I have had strong support from my family who persuaded me to enter into the challenge, as I was an asthmatic,” Teena said.
“My son goes into the Navy this week and he made it clear he wanted me to kick start a healthier lifestyle so he wouldn’t worry so much about me.”
Runner up Noni Collins also received a makeover from Madison Avenue and lots of other goodies from Port Central retailers.
As part of the Port Central Healthy Lifestyle Challenge, Port Central Newsagency held a promotion to win a Challenge Fitness Toning Package which included a personal trainer for 12 weeks — 3 times per week for 30 minutes.
The package also included total monitoring of progress and free use of the facility at other times. Congratulations to Lynne Magus who won the Challenge Fitness Toning Package prize.
Port Central’s Cathy Snook said the success of the Healthy Lifestyle Challenge was very rewarding for all involved and has the potential of becoming an annual event.
“If you missed out on the Healthy Lifestyle Challenge, but have changed your lifestyle, check out the healthy food options and retails buys at Port Central Shopping Centre,” she said.
The Challenge was sponsored by the retailers of Port Central Shopping Centre including Terry White, Bakers Delight, Go Sushi, Port Central Newsagency, Pure and Natural and The Coffee Club, also by the centre itself and Lorna Jane, Life Express and The Port Macquarie Independent newspaper with support from Maddison Avenue and Manning Shoes.
