The commissioning of the largest solar panel system in the Port Macquarie Hastings region and one of the largest on the Mid-North Coast has been taken on by Port Central Shopping Centre.
The newly installed solar system is expected to save up to 180 tonnes of CO² omissions annually, which is the equivalent of taking approximately 20 houses off the grid.
Following the completion of the works associated with the green initiative, Port Central will be ‘green central’ becoming a four and a half star energy efficient shopping Centre.
“The system is part of the long-term green energy initiative being undertaken by Port Central to minimise our environmental footprint,” said Retail Manager, John Weaver.
“We are excited to be able to take these positive steps without compromising the quality of the shopping experience that we have to offer our customers and the local community.”
