LOCAL commemorations marking 100 years since Australia’s involvement in World War I could be eligible for funding assistance through the Federal Government’s Anzac Centenary Grants program.
Member for Lyne Rob Oakeshott this week reminded community groups about the grants program, which could assist them when planning their centenary commemorations.
The centenary commemorations will remember the original Anzacs who served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front, as well as the men and women of the defence force who have served Australia since.
Funding of up to $100,000 is available to the Lyne electorate.
Applications have opened and eligible applicants include:
– Community and ex-service organisations;
– Schools and other educational institutions;
– Museums and cultural institutions;
– Local government authorities; and
– Other non-profit community organisations.
Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding under this program unless supported by an eligible organisation or institution.
Proposed projects and events must be directly commemorative of the involvement, service and sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women in World War I.
Types of projects eligible under this program include:
– Public commemorative events, including the commemoration of important military anniversaries, enlistments and other World War I events that have had a significant impact on the local community;
