The top level of a family home was gutted by flames at lunchtime on Monday.
Port’s Fire Fighters were called to 35 Herschell Street in Port Macquarie at about 12.30pm when the house caught ablaze. Three fire engines and about 12 firies attended the blaze which took about two hours to contain.
Although fire fighters were able to salvage the ground level of the home, the top level was demolished. The residents were home when the fire ignited, however no one was injured in the blaze. The fire was not of a suspicious nature.
