Tea and tucker time for great cause

Residents are armed with cuppas and cakes today to help fight cancer.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraisers are heating up classrooms, kitchens, restaurants and clubs alike, not just today, but all of this month and June.
One such event was a Morning Tea held at Whalebone Wharf Restaurant last Thursday, May 19, which was dubbed a huge success.
The event, like so many others, brought many from the community together, not only to share tea and cakes, but raising money for the Cancer Council.
In true Whalebone fashion Morning Tea attendees also enjoyed many other fundraising activities such as the crab races.
Nathan Tomkins from Whalebone Wharf Restaurant is one of the local Ambassadors for the Cancer Council and was extremely pleased to be able to host the event, which so far has raised $900.
