Bringing in the New Year

The region will be on the hub of excitement on New Year’s Eve with scores of activities around Port Macquarie, Laurieton, Wauchope and beyond, all topped off with an exciting fireworks display.
Whether you want to celebrate with a backyard barbie or a night on the town, there’s so much to do for young and old.
Choices, choices – where do you start to plan your big night?
Start with your venue of choice of course!
Perhaps you can step back in time with a roaring 20s dinner and show at Quality Resort Sails with champagne on arrival, a lavish three course dinner, beverages, live entertainment and more.
Or you could hit the Edge Restaurant at Waters Edge Boutique Hotel for an endless buffet dinner, beverages galore and entertainment to boot.
The Boardwalk Restaurant & Bar will be hosting a fantastic night of live music and a five-course dinner and beverage package, not to be missed either.
Go to Rio this year perhaps with Rydges’ Carnivale party, which offers feathers, fun and a Brazilian-inspired menu.
Tommy’s by the Beach is also gearing up for an exciting New Year’s Eve with a special a la carte menu and house music.
The Young’s Family Carnival will be on at Westport Park too from 6pm, with a wondrous free fireworks display at about 10pm.
Maybe countdown to 2012 with party band The Nevilles, hosted by Pat Trick – comedian, magician and escape artist – at Port Macquarie Panthers.
Then again, you may like to celebrate the arrival of the New Year by taking a trip back to the “60s at Port City Bowling Club.
Whatever way you wish to welcome 2012, don’t forget to book early and avoid disappointment at your favoured place to party!
