Staff at the Port Macquarie Library swapped the humble paperback for their hip electronic cousin when they test drove the latest e-reader devices in an information session recently.
Kindles, Ipads and Kobos – with so many electronic readers now available, the library’s staff arranged the session to showcase the capabilities and functions of each machine and guide users through the library’s facilities and resources that complement the new technology.
Port Macquarie Library Manager Jim Maguire said the library had a plethora of e-resources available to members and the information session was an opportunity for people to familiarise themselves with each device in an environment where experts will be on-hand to answer questions.
