THE Inner Wheel Club of Port Macquarie West celebrated another successful year at its changeover last week at the Panthers Club.
Outgoing president Kathy Naylor advised the 62 members and guests how the club had grown, with the introduction of enthusiastic new members and the many activities the club had been involved in throughout the year.
From money raised, several charitable organisations received donations, including Cord Blood Research, Koala Hospital, Cancer Council, ROMAC, Kenya Project, St Thomas’s Soup Kitchen, Women’s Refuge, Motor Neurone Disease Research, Riding for the Disabled, Camp Quality, RSPCA, Rotary’s Hat Day for Mental Health and Relay for Life.
The ongoing project for the Special Care Nursery at the Port Macquarie Hospital also received a considerable donation, which will allow members of the craft group to continue to provide the baby packs, which are well received by new mothers.
The new president for the coming year is Ruth Comish and she and the committee have an interesting and varied program for 2013-’14.
Members of the executive for the new committee are immediate past president Kathy Naylor, vice-president Margot Lee, junior vice-president Maria Collins, secretary Helen Crossley, treasurer Del Robson, club correspondent Marlene White, international correspondent Ronda Laws, historian Lorraine Beukers, social convenor Lee Harlow, publicity officer Noeleen Hayward, extension officer Bronwyn Hacker, assistant treasurer Lyn Channon, assistant secretary Anne Maxwell, craft co-ordinator Judy Johnson, committee Dahlis Thompson and public officer Jacqui Everett.
