AWARD-winning author Nicole Alexander will speak at the Port Macquarie Library next month, talking about her writing and how her life on the land inspired her work.
The appearance coincides with the release of her new book Sunset Ridge.
Alexander has been producing fiction, poetry, travel and genealogy writing for more than 20 years and is considered one of the top Australian authors of rural literature, as well as being published internationally.
Her work has been praised for its high degree of historical accuracy and as an authentic presentation of life on the land in Australia.
Alexander is a fourth-generation NSW grazier and a working partner on a northern NSW property that has been in her family for 120 years.
She considers this life experience, and access to the wealth of her family’s historical archives, as the inspiration behind her novels that reveal her love of the bush and the people who live there.
Alexander is a passionate advocate for rural Australia and was named one of New South Wales’ women of the year in 2012 for services to literature and the promotion of outback Australia through her writing.
She will be speaking at the Port Macquarie Library on Tuesday 10 September from 6.30 to 9pm.
Her books will be available at the event for purchase and signing.
The Friends of Port Macquarie Library are presenting this free event and refreshments will be provided.
RSVP to the library on 6581 8755 by Monday 9 September to ensure your seat.
