DUST off your capes and get out your super suit – Superhero Saturday is back.
The event is a fun, healthy and exciting orienteering style event for the whole family and it’s on this Saturday at Jack Evans Boat Harbour in Tweed Heads.
Little Superheroes will team up with adult family members and friends to complete fun checkpoint challenges – wiggle and squirm through the giant worm and conquer the giant climbing wall just like Spiderman!
Superhero Saturday is now in its second year and is The Family Centre’s major fund-raising event.
“The Family Centre provides a range of services for children, young people and families that build and enhance relationships and parenting skills. Funds raised support our innovative relationship skills programs in local primary schools,” said centre executive director David Boutkan.
“Come dressed in your best superhero costumes – you can keep it simple or be as super as you like.
“This year we’ve got some super challenges as well as short and long courses to suit all ages and fitness levels, so we’re very excited about it. We have had wonderful support from businesses that have sponsored the event and donated thousands of dollars’ worth of fantastic prizes – including family fun day out prizes to Movieworld and Underwater World, as well as personal training sessions at Dave’s Ghetto Gym and yoga at Gold Coast Yoga Centre for mum and dad.
“Plus all the super teams go into the prize draw for their chance to win a family getaway package at Jacaranda Cottages, Maleny. We also have a prize of a luxury family getaway at the Ramada for the team who can fund-raise the most,” David said.
“Are our staff faster than a speeding train? Can they leap tall buildings in a single bound? I like to think that they are everyday superheroes, but on September 7 they get to wear their superhero suits!” he added
