A family friendly 9pm (NSW) fireworks display has been added to New Year’s Eve celebrations at Jack Evans Boat Harbour this year.
Mayor of Tweed, Councillor Barry Longland, said council was sponsoring the 9pm fireworks because it was important to provide an earlier opportunity for families to enjoy and welcome the New Year.
It will precede the traditional midnight fireworks display at Jack Evans Boat Harbour, which is sponsored by Twin Towns Clubs and Resorts.
They will be followed an hour later by fireworks at Coolangatta, when Queensland ticks over to midnight.
“Jack Evans Boat Harbour is a wonderful location for these community gatherings, particularly family events,” Cr Longland said.
“It is a spectacular setting for the fireworks and the 9pm display will be a fantastic addition to celebrations for Tweed families.”
