Ride ’em cowboys

THE best bulls, broncs and cowboys in Australia will head to the Coast on 4 January for the annual Cudgen Leagues Club Bull and Bronc Spectacular.
Preparations are well underway for this year’s event – the fourth annual rodeo at the Cudgen Club.
Organiser Jayne Henry said the event added to the colour on the Tweed Coast during the school holidays.
“We had more than 3000 people last year and we are hoping we can emulate that,” she said.
“We have added amusement rides as well as the full program of rodeo events.
“There will be something for the whole family as coast meets country.”
Jayne said the event was NRA sanctioned and would feature the NRA bucking bronc of the year, Electric Chair.
“We have Innocent Bystanders providing the entertainment this year as well as the best riders and the funniest clowns,” she said.
“Ian Bostock will be there with the famous Woolly Bully – mechanical bull.
“Tickets will be available at the gate and for the first time people can book online via the website at www.cudgenleagues.com.au.”
