Beach Stomp days revisted a huge success

Port Macquarie Surf Lifesaving Club raised over $2000 at their recent Beach Stomp Fundraiser and at the same time relived the ever popular 1960s Beach Stomp days.
The Beach Stomp Days of the 60s used to play every Sunday afternoon raising funds for the club and original members of the band jumped at the opportunity to get together again and relive the nostalgia of those days, whilst raising funds for a great cause.
Money raised from the event will go to much needed life saving equipment and training for members, as well as operational costs.
Bob Calvert said it was fabulous to see so many old friends and members plus new ones enjoying a great night. With over five hours of live music, plenty of people spent the night dancing away.
The Roys, made up of Dave McGrath, John Maynard, Rob Marchment and Bob Calvert, set the whole thing up and can be heard at The Port City Bowling club on the first Saturday night of every month.
A big thanks to all who supported the cause; the bands – The Roys, The Port Side 4 and Loose Ends, Innervision, Furniture One, David Plews and The Independent newspaper.
