A new group of local businesswomen, Port Macquarie Mumpreneurs, put their creative talents to good use at an inaugural Christmas in July event on Sunday. The women prepared a huge hamper of handmade gifts for the Hastings Women and Children’s Refuge at the Settlement Point Park event. Port Macquarie Mumpreneurs spokeswoman Michelle Newman said the new group was formed in March this year by a number of local women juggling their own successful businesses with the trials and triumphs of motherhood. At the Christmas in July event, families of the Mumpreneurs were spoilt with an off-season visit from Santa and Mrs Clause.
