Australian rock stalwarts, Dirty Three, will play at the Glasshouse on Monday, March 12.
Dirty Three are violinist, Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner and drummer, Jim White. Formed in Melbourne in 1991, this violin-led trio has earned an international fan base through years of relentless touring and spellbinding live performances.
Playing live together they are an intuitive force. Via manic verbose song introductions, Ellis summons sounds and spells from his violin, White’s dexterity is awe-inspiring, and Turner is stoic and unflappable. Together they channel their poetically profound and emotionally honest songs, rather than simply perform them.
With a new album scheduled for early 2012, this tour features new material as well as songs from many of their most loved and influential works including Ocean Songs, Cinder, Horse Stories and more.
The Dirty Three will play at the Glasshouse on Monday, March 12 at 8pm. Tickets cost $25-30.
