Hastings Community FM Radio Association 2 WAY FM will hold its annual Country Music Shindig this Saturday, August 11, at 7pm at the Wauchope RSL Club.
The event is a major fundraiser for the community radio station which is run by volunteers. Ken “Chainsaw” Lindsay the station’s Program Manager and Country Music presenter said that the shindig is an opportunity for listeners and presenters to get together and show their support for Country Music and 2 WAY FM.
Chainsaw will be performing on the night, along with six-times Queensland Country Music instrumentalist of the year Lindsay “Waddo” Waddington, locals Michelle and David Styles, Tamworth’s Trevor Coombes and John Bielby. There will be raffles and lucky door prizes on the night.
Admission is only $10 and tickets will be available at the door. A fun night of country music is assured. 2 Way FM has just undergone major works at its transmission site at Mt Cairncross. The recent Radiothon has helped enormously to fund these works, but we are asking once more for community support to help this worthwhile volunteer organisation. 2 WAY FM can be found on your radio dial on 103.9 FM.
