Sweet songs from southern skies

Tacking Point Primary School choir, Bel Canto, will enjoy a thrilling unique experience when they perform with two of Australia’s most loved female artists – Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp – at the Glasshouse on Saturday, September 15.
Songstress Katie Noonan and acclaimed classical guitarist Karin Schaupp are currently touring Australia as part of their recent album release ‘Songs of the Southern Skies’. The Glasshouse is one of just 20 venues to host this acclaimed pair on their national tour.
Their concert will take a distinctly local flavour, as Tacking Point Choir, Bel Canto, have been invited to join Katie and Karin on stage.
“I am so excited that once again we are able to provide our local artists an opportunity to work with professional performers at the Glasshouse,” said Belinda Gibson, Glass-house Program Manager Performing Arts.
“Last year when we brought Deepblue Orchestra to the Glasshouse we were able to offer local string musicians a chance to workshop their skills and perform onstage with professional musicians. Now it’s the turn of our wonderful young choral community to take to the stage, as the students from Tacking  Point Primary School have this unique opportunity to perform with Katie Noonan — one of Australia’s most talented female singers.
“A huge thank you to the students of Bel Canto, Robyn Ryan OAM and Dayna Moritz who have been rehearsing Gotye’s ‘Heart’s a Mess’ for this concert. Not only are we going to be treated to an amazing musical performance from Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp, we will also be celebrating the talent of our local children and supporting our local community on stage,” said Ms Gibson.
