TAFE Art and Design Exhibition

Armidale TAFE Art and Graphic Design students.

Works by TAFE Art and Graphic Design students will go on show at an exhibition opening on Thursday, Novemebr 22 at 6pm.
The annual exhibition is held in the TAFE art studios (entered via Allingham Street), and will be officially opened by teacher and artist Fay Porter.  Members of the local community look forward to this free event each year.
The exhibition gives the students and teachers a chance to fully appreciate the year’s artistic achievements.
“This year we have had a fantastic group of students who have produced some wonderful work and we are excited about what promises to be an excellent exhibition,” explained Kerry Wilson, visual art teacher.
“This exhibition is all the more special because funding cuts for visual art spells the end of an era for art courses at TAFE.”
All 2012 art and graphic design students have been included in the exhibition, which will feature painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design and photography.
Professional artists and designers instruct students at TAFE. The courses aim to encourage and challenge students to develop their creative potential through practice of technique, skill, observation, imagination and experimentation.
Many fascinating and individual art and design pieces will be on display.  These range from traditional subjects and materials, eye-catching posters and designs, to experimental and evocative works.
It promises to be a sensational mix of line, shape, form and colour, all under the one roof. Many of the works are for sale, and it is an opportunity to purchase high quality art and designs at reasonable prices.
The exhibition is open for five days, from Friday, November 23 to Tuesday, November 27. The studios are open weekdays 11am — 6pm and weekends 10am — 4pm.
