A Night for Murder theatre group is looking for new members.
2012 marks the start of the sixth year “murder nights’ have been available in the Hastings area. The group has performed in numerous venues such as Wauchope RSL, Lake Cathie Bowling Club, South West Rocks Country Club and for various organisations like Lions and Probus as well as many retirement and lifestyle villages.
“We pride ourselves on being a very unique theatre group,” said head henchman Dennis Williams. “Audience interaction is key, so skills in improvisation are vital.”
So what is a murder night? Well, in a nutshell, a murder night is an interactive murder mystery evening: there is a homicide that the audience must solve. Firstly the cast will perform a short 30-40 minute play. By the end of this drama the deed is done. It is time for the audience to interrogate the suspects.
If this sounds like fun to you, why not become a member of A Night for Murder? No experience is necessary, just a willingness to come along and have a go!
All aspiring “murderers’ are invited to attend the group’s AGM and auditions on Tuesday, March 20, at the Baptist Church on Granite St. The AGM starts at 7pm and auditions commence at 7.30pm. Membership will be at a reduced rate of $5 for those who sign up on the night. The audition will involve a read through of local playwright Robin Van Loggerenberg’s latest script, “Murder Down Under”.
