Musicians Edo and Jo return to Australia in February to share their beautiful Kirtan and songs. After eight months abroad in Bali and India, where they reside half the year, engaged in humanitarian service, music and yogic studies, the divine duo will be visiting Port Macquarie as part of their East Coast Tour.
Their live kirtan and sacred sound events organically infuse audiences with an opportunity for divine connection, emotional release and inner transformation.Edo and Jo will hold a kirtan event at The Yoga Shala in Port Macquarie next Thursday, February 23 at 7.30pm.
Kirtan is an ancient, joyous form of call-and-response chanting. You don’t need to be able to sing or have any previous experience to enjoy a kirtan event. Everyone is welcome to attend, even just to listen in to the music. Edo and Jo have been featured in Australian Yoga Journal and Indian Link for their stunning and unique expression of sacred music.
Edo is an award-winning songwriter (APRA song of the year 2009) and his songs feature regularly in films, TV and on radio (with his bands Kahn Brothers and Gelbison).
Jo’s ethereal and deeply moving voice is supported by her classical training in flute and piano. Their music takes the listener on a journey of Eastern mystical mantras and joyous melodies, lush vocal harmonies, rapturous rhythms and gentle devotion acting as honey droplets for the soul.
Kirtan Alive, is their uplifting debut CD, and is available for download through www.edoandjo.com, itunes and in stores distributed by Brumby Music.
Tickets for the Port Macquarie event can be purchased on the door. Cost is $20.
