This year’s Port Macquarie-Hastings and Kempsey Heritage Festival was a great success, with events held right across the region.
The weather was kind to most of the scheduled events, including the opening held at Douglas Vale Homestead.
The Port Macquarie Historical Society organised two history walks which were very well attended.
The society’s volunteer guide Lyn Crosscombe led participants on a tour of Port Macquarie’s 2nd Burying Ground with her ‘Stories behind the Graves’ walk and later in the week, a tour of historic sites in and around Port Macquarie’s CBD area.
The Historic Court House also held Devonshire tea on their front lawn, with entertainment provided by the Port Macquarie Hastings Municipal Band.
