Port City Bowling Club is hosting two sons of Tamworth this month, when Ryan Sampson and Mike Vee play on September 22 and September 29, respectively.
On Saturday, September 22, Ryan Sampson will be playing a free show from 7.30pm. The Toowoomba-based, Tamworth-born country music artist was born to be an entertainer. Ryan is a larrikin who can still bring a tear to many an eye with his emotive delivery of a ballad, but still likes to have a laugh.
Growing up in Tamworth, Ryan’s childhood was filled with country music. A graduate and scholarship holder of the CMAA College of Australian Country Music, he won the Overall Bundaberg Rum Jazzer Quest in the same month as graduating.
On Saturday, September 29, Mike Vee will be playing a free show from 7.30pm. Mike opened last year’s Australia’s Got Talent series with a rendition of John Farnham’s “Help”, which people haven’t stop talking about.
Besides performing in the Whispering Jack Show, Mike likes to do his acoustic-style solo performance occasionally and guests next week will experience something com-pletely different to the six-piece band he works with all over Australia.
But nevertheless, Mike puts on a performance that has the people listening to songs from U2 to UB40 … plus a lot of classic sing alongside tunes from the 80s, till now.
Mike’s gifted voice lets him cover a broad range of material. He is sure to have at least one or two tunes for everyone that enjoys music.
