Wauchope residents will have an amazing opportunity to view a contemporary re-imagining of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, A Comedy of Errors, this Friday in Bain Park.
Shakespeare’s riotous comedy about mistaken identity has been transported to a 21st century context in which everyone has a mobile phone and Facebook account, yet somehow miscommunication reigns.
Adapted and directed by Carl Young (City of Newcastle Drama Award winner for best professional director of Shakespeare’s As You Like It) and presented by the Newcastle Tantrum Theatre Company, this performance is part of the Playrites Festival of Theatre, a Port Macquarie Hastings Council initiative.
Carrying appeal for a wide range of audiences, A Comedy of Errors can be enjoyed over a picnic lunch or dinner.
Viewers will delight in the performance as confusion unfolds as the paths of two sets of long-separated twins finally cross and mayhem follows with hilarious results.
A Comedy of Errors is to be performed in Bain Park, Wauchope this Friday, March 23. The matinee performance will commence at 11am and the evening show at 6.30pm. Cost for the show is only a gold coin donation per person.
If the weather is unsuitable for an outdoor performance A Comedy of Errors will be performed at Wauchope Arts Hall.
