Now is the last chance to help fundraise for Ride for Sick Kids Although the seventh annual Hadley’s Ride for Sick Kids Charity bike ride has concluded, Port Macquarie residents still have the chance to ensure the charity bike ride reaches its most ambitious fundraising total to date of $1.5 million. Until September 30, McDonald’s restaurants across Northern NSW are donating 100 per cent of profits from the sale of Limited Edition McCafé Traveller’s Flasks and fifty cents from the sale of every Tall McCafé, to Ronald McDonald House (RMH) programs in Newcastle and Tamworth; all in support of the 2011 Ride for Sick Kids. The Charity Bike Ride, which took place from Tuesday, August 31 to Saturday, September 3, involved a team of 25 dedicated cyclists, travelling from Armidale to Newcastle, raising much-needed funds for seriously ill children supported by Ronald McDonald Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth, the Forster Family Retreat and the planned Family Room at the Gosford Hospital. The McCafé fundraiser represents the last chance for Port Macquarie residents to ensure the Ride raises an additional $250,000, needed to crack the $1.5 million dollar mark for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
