Port Macquarie Players Theatre will wow you with its version of the popular Broadway classic Little Shop of Horrors on now.
Tim Gibbs leads the cast as Seymour, the dorky and clumsy assistant to Mr Mushnik, a cranky and broke florist, played by theatre veteran John Uncle who owns a run down florist shop in Downtown New York City in the 1960s.
This hilarious horticultural horror film spoof has come together under the direction of first time director Andrew Cockroft Penman and
will visually and musically amaze you.
Andrew has added his own touch of quirky creativity into this production with jaw dropping results, selecting a cast and crew that will show the community some of the greatest talent our Theatre has to offer with all the amazing singing guided by Ian Castle, the best vocal coach on the mid north coast and the 60s’ Doo-Wop and Rock-Roll score provided by the live 13-piece band under conductor Ben Simon.
Busting with colourful costumes and a set that has been designed to surprise you, Little Shop of Horrors, depending on the plant’s appetite, will have you comically amused or paranoid about what plants you buy at the florist.
Little Shop is showing now at the Players Theatre until October 9, with show times Wednesday to Saturday at 8pm and Sunday shows from 2pm.
