All systems go for Roundup

The Hastings Country Music Association is hosting its 33rd Annual Country Music Roundup from March 18-20.
The Association has been active since 1975 promoting country music and raising funds for charities, mainly locally.
This year it is again supporting the Wauchope United Hospital Auxiliary to assist in the purchase of four recliner chairs for the Day Surgery at the Wauchope District Memorial Hospital (approximate cost is $5000 each).
The Roundup follows a similar format to previous years, with a free concert by HCMA members on Friday, March 18 from 7.45pm at the Wauchope RSL which once again is a major sponsor.
There will be some street entertainment on Saturday, March 19 and “Walk Up” artists at the Star Hotel from 11am.
This year the Association is introducing a Junior Showcase at the Arts Hall in Bain Park from 9am on Saturday, March 19th.
This is open to all junior singers, musicians, poets, dancers and other acts with a country theme.
The main concert is from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 19 featuring artists representing other  Country Music Clubs.
Appearances by last years’ Senior and Junior Talent Quest winners, Pat Brown and Trent Holder will no doubt be a highlight of the night.
These boys have recently been successful at the Bungendore Country Music Festival where Pat won the busking competition and Trent the coveted Barry Thornton award for his guitar playing.
Of particular interest to Port Macquarie is the appearance of Allan Lavender or “Tingah” as he was better known in his many football years with the Sharks
Tickets for the concert are just $5 for adults and available at the door from 6.30pm
