The sky’s the limit

THE Port Macquarie Astronomical Observatory will be open to the public as part of the National Trust Heritage Festival each Friday, Sunday and Wednesday evening to the end of May.
Port Macquarie Astronomical Association members are proud to celebrate Port Macquarie’s unique heritage as part of the festival.

The Port Macquarie Astronomical Observatory is located in Rotary Park, Stewart Street, between the intersections of William and Lord Streets, opposite Town Beach.
Doors open 7.15pm each Friday, Sunday and Wednesday evening to end of May. Adults $8, concessions $7 (students, concession card holders), Children $5 (5 to 12 years), Families (2 adults plus 2 children) $22. Children under five free.
Visitors to the Astronomical Observatory will be treated to a one hour entertaining presentation of the night sky with spectacular images of astronomical objects together with a 3D look at Mars while the presenter relates amazing stories of astronomical innovation, invention and discovery. Plus an opportunity to look at and hold a metallic meteorite. Weather permitting, the evening begins and ends with a look through the telescope.
