Are you new to town, newly single or widowed, but hate dining out alone?
Carol Scott and Ian Haddow at Olives Italian Restaurant are reserving a Friendship Table each Thursday night at 6pm where up to 10 people (over 50) can enjoy good food and good company in a safe and welcoming environment.
“There are many older people in Port Macquarie that would love to dine out, but feel uncomfortable eating out alone,” Carol said.
“Often their partner has been hospitalised, recently passed away or they have been nursing older parents and they need a social outlet without feeling uncomfortable being out on their own.
“We at Olives would like to give these people the opportunity to enjoy some great food and company in a welcoming atmosphere with like minded people who have come from similar situations.”
Carol said the table is not a dating service: “It’s about making friends and being able to enjoy a good meal on a regular basis.”
The first Friendship Table is on Thursday, June 28, at 6pm for 6.30pm dinner service. Bookings are essential, to book call 02 6582 6366 to reserve your seat.
