Lamplighters set 1960s on fire

If you enjoyed The Commitments or The Blues Brothers or are a fan of classic 1960s rock and soul music, you need to hear The Lamplighters.

The Lamplighters are a soul and rock-roll band dedicated to recreating the look and sound of an authentic 1960s R&B group and the hit songs of that era.

The lineup of bass, drums, guitar, horns and two Go-Go dancers lay down the smooth grooves and cool moves made famous by James Brown, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The Righteous Brothers, Sam Cook, Little Richard and the Young Rascals.

The Lamplighters’ visual impact is totally in line with the era of their music.

Featured on stage are go-go dancers in mod mini dresses and white boots.

The band is in narrow lapelled jackets, thin ties, stovepipe pants and pompadour hairstyles while playing vintage guitars and drums and singing into
1960s style chromed microphones.

Catch the Lamplighters at Port City Bowls on Friday, January 28. Tickets available from the Club.
