Kendall’s alive with music

In September the Kendall School of Arts will come alive with an extraordinary weekend of fine classical music.
On Saturday, September 8, from 10.30am the 2012 Kendall National Violin Competition Final will be held featuring four of Australia’s finest young violinists competing for the title of 14th winner of the competition and the prized violin or viola handcrafted from Australian timbers by Master Luthier Graham Caldersmith.
A special Q & A session will be conducted following the final performance in the afternoon session for anyone wishing to learn more about the violin, musicianship and this important national event.
Tickets: Morning Session $15 Afternoon Session $15 Full Day $25 Student $10 (half day $5) Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the day.
On Sunday, September 9, from 2pm the traditional Celebration Concert will be held featuring the 2012 Competition winner and “Live Music Sydney” under the direction of Goetz Richter.
“Live Music Sydney” returns to enthral us with a wonderful program celebrating the splendours of romanticism commencing with two lyrical works for String Orchestra by Edward Elgar and Ottorini Respighi.
Tickets: Adult $30 Student $15 Afternoon Tea will be served at the conclusion of this event. Contributions warmly welcomed.
