Bowing to his Labor-Greens masters

It is disappointing but not unexpected that the Member for New England Tony Windsor has abandoned any semblance of being the local member in favour of bowing to his Labor-Greens masters.
In recent weeks, Mr.Windsor has forced through a 12.5 cents a litre tax on LPG, despite being a proponent of clean, green energy. He then voted down a motion calling on the Government to bring forward a resolution of the independent youth allowance issue which is having a dramatic effect on Tamworth and Armidale students.
Mr Windsor then shut down fellow Independent Bob Katter’s motion to debate the live cattle exports, resulting in Mr Katter describing him as a “Labor Party puppet”. And he will not support the Coalition’s call for the carbon tax to be decided by the people.
The Member for New England is showing double standards because, in August 2003, he challenged a then-Minister to survey the people of New England, saying “that’s what democracy is all about – finding out what the people want and representing their views in the Parliament”. It is an affront to the people of New England that he won’t do the same.
