A MELTON West family has been left shattered just weeks before Christmas after their home was destroyed in a suspicious blaze last week.
The Robina Court property was reduced to ash last Wednesday after fire broke out just before 11.30am. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but police are treating it as suspicious.
Country Fire Authority members and police arrived at the scene shortly after they were called but could do nothing to save the house.
No one was injured in the blaze, however police told Star there were some anxious moments as they endeavoured to account for all family members including a 12-year-old boy who had gone out with friends that day.
Police believe the damage bill is in excess on $250,000 with all of the family’s prized possessions lost in the fire.
