JAI Jeffrie has got more flare than your average seven-year-old.

Unlike most children his age, the Caroline Springs youngster spends little time on electronic games but instead spends hours busting his favourite moves like the ‘baby freeze’ and ‘head stand’.

The St Peter Chanel student began breakdancing last year after becoming inspired by reality television show sensation Justice Crew.

“I really like Justice Crew. I saw them on TV and liked how they dance,” Jai said.

Mum Kylie immediately enrolled him into breakdancing classes at K-Star dance studio in St Albans and in the past 12 months he has blossomed into a b-boying phenomenon.

“When I first started it was really hard, but now it’s easier. It took a long time to learn how to do a head stand and I felt really happy when I could do it.”

His proud mum said while breakdancing was not what she had expected her son to be involved in, she couldn’t be happier.

“He loves it. I’m very proud of him. He chose to do it and it’s something he’s passionate about,” Kylie said.

And it seems the spritely youngster is a jack of all trades juggling breakdance classes with football, cricket, basketball and guitar lessons.

“He does a lot, but I think it’s important that’s he’s active and not just sitting indoors playing computer games.”
